It is noted that bloggers have long asked to introduce such a function, because for them, advertising was actually the only source of income on the platform.

“This is an income diversification tool. This is what the authors requested. We work closely with them, ”said Youtube CEO Neil Mohan.

It is also specified that the service will introduce the function of a paid subscription to those channels that have more than 100,000 subscribers. Such channels will be able to sell ordinary users of the video service "membership" or youtube views for $ 4.99 per month.

As you know, previously paid subscriptions were available only for a select number of content authors who could receive funds from users.

The subscription will also enable users to access an expanded list of emojis, exclusive content and paraphernalia, the publication writes.

It is reported that the function is already available for some channels dedicated to video games, and will soon be available to others.

However, authors will be able to receive 70% of the cost of the subscription only after the sales tax has been deducted. At the moment, all the fees for making payments, including credit card transactions, are completely incurred by the YouTube service itself.

In turn, Facebook also began testing the function of paid groups: to get access to the content of such communities, users will have to pay from $ 5 to $ 30 per month, TechCrunch reports.

According to the owners of the social network, such functionality should motivate group administrators to create unique content. In the near future, innovations will be tested by administrators of a limited circle of communities, and if the experiment is successful, then this opportunity will become publicly available.
